Intel Matrix Storage Console, writeback cache aanzetten.

Zoals jullie wel weten heb ik een Intel plank, met een x48 chipset. Deze gebruik ik om m’n harde schijven van 250GB in RAID0 te zetten, voor m’n OS & Games.

Maar standaard staat de writeback cache uit, wat als resultaat heeft dat ge performance verliest.

Helaasch. Maar natuurlijk kunt ge die aanzetten, met natuurlijk als risico dat er data verloren gaat als de stroom uitvalt.

Hoe gaat dat nu:

  1. Ga naar http://www.intel.com/support/chipsets/imsm/
  2. Klik op ‘get the latest utility’
  3. Volg de instructies
  4. Download & installeer
  5. Ga naar start > ‘Intel’ > ‘Intel(R) Matrix Storage Manager’ > ‘Intel(R) Matrix Storage Console’
  6. Rechtermuisknop op uw array, en dan ‘Enable Hard Disk Data cache’
