As stated on my previous post: I was sick because the Tapas I ate yesterday were not good.
I woke up at ~0700, ready to go to the CCIB (the location where the congress is hosted).
I ate a bit, but I had to go back to bed, took some medicine because my stomach was really acting up.
At about 1130 I was awake, at 1145 I took the metro, ate lunch at Tech·Ed, and then I wanted to go to a session about .NET debugging and performance issues. But it was full.
So now I am attending about Designer <> Developer workflow.

First things first: the mobile session SUCKED! It was only for Standard Windows Mobile 6.1 (about 1% market). So I left.
After that I called with my girlfriend
with Windows Live Messenger. Went very good!
In the evening there was a country party, I ate good over there, met the editor from the B# blog (I’ll post the pictures tomorrow!), talked a bit with Katrien!
When it was finished Jan (Jan = the Academic Program manager @ Microsoft) proposed to go and eat something in a Tapas Bar…
I still have acid burn. But more on that on the next post.

Agile Development session was very interesting, it’s a very direct way of developing, not looking to much ahead, though keeping the architecture in mind (make sure you can implement everything!!!). Also: you show your customer every 2 weeks/every month what you want.
Coming up: creating a home screen for Windows Mobile 6.1, I don’t know what to expect, but it looks interesting
I’ll keep you posted!

I am now (live!) attending a session on Agile development: answering some questions that differ from normal development.
Lot of information to learn now, so I’m going back paying attention!
Photos will be added ASAP!

Something funny: loading an app with 80 Photos in it of ~8MP.
Then scrolling though the pictures: a WHOPPING 1.2GB of memory usage!
Bitmap effects are NOT GPU accelerated. So they use normal RAM!

First things first:
The SQL Server 2008 Full-Text was awesome. Very powerful search, with the stop words, thesauruses, and stuff like that.
After that session I went for lunch…
And it sucked
I got something like pudding, with a lemon taste and smell. Smelled like those cleaning blocks in the toilet.
Also included was a salad and some sandwiches. I don’t know who compiled the package, but he ought to get a kick in the ass.
Now I am attanding a presentation on WPF Performance! WPF rocks

Woke up (I was on time
), went for breakfast, took the metro to the CCIB, and there I attended a session on how Unit Testing will change in the future.
Unfortunatly, due to the fact I want to bed VERY late I fell asleep. A pitty. :’(
Now I am attending a session on Full Text search in SQL Server 2008. Really cool!
See you in 40 minutes!

Well well it was a very long day, I don’t have internet @ the hotel, so I am updating now
Yesterday I did a session on building a Silverlight info screen, with pagetemplates. It was a session to learn more about Silverlight. Quite nice, good (natural) presentation. Learning a lot here
And as last session I did a breakout on Internet Explorer 8 beta 2, and asked a lot of questions.
I might even say I look a bit more happier to Internet Explorer 8 (believe it or not, they made HUGE improvements).
In the evening we went carting (needed to skip the last session
), but it was cool
did a lot of networking
I’ll keep you posted!

Well, I wrote a bit about this day on the previous post, so I wont rewrite that part. (Call me lazy, I call it effectiveness).
Just got back from a session on how IT will change. And it was awsome, lot of stuff to think about, about IBM, with their sacred cow (the mainframe), and how it got replaced by normal computers.
IBM’s model was that the pcs should interact with the mainframe, with transactions and stuff like that. But that’s not true anymore. We all have our own SQL Server Express / Compact, and stuff like that on our own computer.
So if you have a sacred cow: build something to replace that, because if you don’t, someone else will!
A little impression on how good the wireless network over here is:

No problems at all
(it’s like that all day long)
I kind off miss a few of my good classmates who surely would be on their place over here (I don’t know if I translated that right).

Was hot like hell. We took a two hour walk, got approached by 2 hookers (no joke), and drank (with 5 man) 2 bottles of cava.
Result: at 0810 I woke up (no hangover (fortunatly)), missed the first session (no big deal, I already saw the introduction for Silverlight 2).
In a moment I am going to follow the session ‘How IT will change the next 10 years and why you should care’. There is also another option ‘LINQ deep dive with Visual Basic’, but I really don’t like that language so that is out of the question.
In the evening we will go karting with all MSPs (Microsoft Student partners). Great!
A little impression of me:
